Day 1:

Start your Savannah to Charleston bicycling tour at what Condé Nast Traveler rated as one of the “Top Hotels in the South.” Explore Savannah on an afternoon guided walking tour and revel in Savannah’s fascinating mysteries and Victorian gems. A welcome dinner will be held at the hotel’s own Pacci restaurant, renowned for its Southern fare and Italian classics.

Day 2:

A tranquil ride takes you through Bonaventure Cemetery and the captivating Wormsloe historic site, also known as Wormsloe Plantation. Cycle along a pristine avenue draped with an incredibly photogenic canopy of live Oaks and Spanish moss. Wormsloe offers a precious glimpse into the lives of Georgia’s earliest European settlers.

Day 3:

Paddle down the sleepy rivers and tributaries in South Carolina and Georgia (depending on seasonal tides). In the afternoon, we head to spectacular Beaufort, South Carolina, with its aristocratic antebellum architecture and palatial estates. Located in the heart of Beaufort’s landmark historic district is the elegant Beaufort Inn, a property that boasts quintessential Victorian architecture. Dinner this evening is at one of Beaufort’s premier restaurants.

Day 4:

This morning, we shuttle to the St. Helena Island, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote his timeless “I Have a Dream” speech. Enjoy a beautiful picnic lunch on the beach. Visit the Penn Center, one of the country’s first schools for formerly enslaved individuals. Today, it’s home to the Gullah Geechee, a community that descended from enslaved African Americans of various ethnic groups. We also stop at Chapel of Ease, an Episcopal church made entirely of oyster shells, known as “tabby.” Tonight, guests are treated to the highlight of this trip at a plantation: an extravagant low country boil Gullah Geechee dinner.

Day 5:

Go for a final ride around antebellum Beaufort along the Spanish Moss Trail before traveling to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, a city whose southern charm is epitomized by cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages. Accommodation for the next two nights is at extraordinarily elegant French Quarter Inn.

Day 6:

Continue your historical and cultural journey through the south with a bike ride to Fort Moultrie, on Sullivan’s Island over the Arthur Ravenal bridge. Along the way, visit the USS Yorktown as well as the Cold War Submarine Memorial.

Day 7:

Embark on a short ferry ride to Fort Sumter National Monument, famously known as the starting point of the American Civil War, at the end of which you will be transported back to the French Quarter Inn.

A significant amount of health safety measures and trip modifications are currently in place and will continue into 2022. Out of an abundance of caution, we are requiring a proof of vaccination from our fully vaccinated guests and requiring non-vaccinated guests to get tested before traveling with us on any trip regardless of regional entry requirements within 48 hours prior to travel.

Our bikes are issued with flat pedals. If you ride with clip-less pedals (SPD or similar), we suggest that you remove your pedals from your bike and bring them with you. Your tour leaders will install your pedals on your bike for use during your bike trip.
